Provides high level application and lab support to multidisciplinary therapeutics R&D team.Includes role as Tissue Culture Manager, managing all TC training, SOPs, TC H&S, work policies and TC rep team.Provide routine cell culture services - passaging, cell line breakout, cell banking, mycoplasma testing and scale up of production cells across multiple adherent and suspension systems. Assistance in protein purification workflows, including small scale purifications and routine binding capacity testing of purification substrates. Routine calibration and maintenance of a variety of lab equipment, from electrophoresis systems through to flow cytometers. Assisting the site operations manager with lab expansion, including a complete rebuild of our tissue culture facilities. Manage stores and consumables and ensure continuity is provided through pandemic + wider disruptions.

Consists of supplying laboratory services to Astrazeneca scientists based at CRUK Cambridge Institute. Includes reagent and equipment restock through a Kanban system, disposal of laboratory waste streams including novel and hazardous compound disposal, laboratory equipment maintenance, sample dispatch and taking delivery of new samples and compounds, Aliquoting service consisting of FBS and other cell culture supplements, preparation of tubes and supplies for upcoming studies and general laboratory good housekeeping, for a total of over 40 scientists spanning wide areas of research across multiple labs in a complex matrix environment, managing expectations and relationships with both the customer and other key stakeholders.

Summer placement in a reasearch lab joining a researcher and PhD student. Placement involved liasing with companies to procure reagents and equipment, carrying out research into appropriate techniques and assesment of which techniques would best be applied to our research. Gained practical skills in molecular techniques and independant lab work, specifically RNA extraction and real time qPCR.

Position involved carrying keys to the safe, delegating roles to a team of up to 7 people, dealing with customer refunds and complaints, accounting for and providing cash floats for tills, carrying out reductions on products nearing expiry date and generally ensuring the store is run smoothly.

Position involved working on tills and performing general shopfloor housekeeping (Restocking shelves, facing up). Main point of contact for the customer within the store.
