Hello, I’m Coach Christopher Waye,In the fall of 2011, my oldest son who was four at the time informed me that he was ready to begin his baseball journey. That January he was in the gym and starting T-ball and there I was starting my own transition from “Chris the baseball player” to “Coach Waye”.To be honest, I was very hesitant at first because I knew that I had the willingness to one day give back to the game of baseball by passing on my knowledge and experience to the next generation, I just wasn’t sure at the time if the timing was right. At the time, I just wanted to be a supportive father who helped out the other coaches when needed but who for the most part just sits off to the side watching his son develop his own love for the game and then it happened.There I was out on the gym floor helping one group of kids with a hitting drill on the far end of the gym and I could hear another one of the coaches yelling at his group of four year olds on the other side. I didn’t realize it in that very moment but on that day and in that moment, New Waye Performance Training was created.The VisionMy focus as a hitting instructor is teaching baseball and softball players the fundamentals and necessary body mechanics of hitting. My services give players, teams, coaches and groups a dedicated, disciplined and intense training program to help every player and team develop, grow and achieve their very best on and off the field.With that vision always at the top of my mind, I create a calm, fun, energetic and nurturing training environment. As a hitting instructor and coach, my job is to take the complex and make it simple and easier to understand for young hitters. My training goals for the hitters I work with are to explain hitting principles; teach proper body alignment, explain why it’s important to hitting and to dispel common misconceptions about hitting.
