Managing Director
CurrentChris undertook his apprenticeship in Auto Electrics and after a short period moved up into Management roles within various auto electrical companies in Victoria and New South Wales. In 1996 Chris opened Webbair Auto Electrical Pty Ltd with the aim of creating a company that specialised in servicing the needs and requirements of the earthmoving industry. Additional to this he wanted his company to provide superior service in the auto electrical and air conditioning side of machine repairs. Over the years we have become known throughout the country for this specialised service, as statewide contractors on safety installations for such companies as Boral, CSR, Pioneer and all the major OEM’s like Komatsu, Hitachi, Kobelco and CAT.With technology barking at our heels and fitters having more and more tooling at their disposal, it was clear Chris that his industry was changing for ever. The ever increasing importance of safety issues was the path that we needed to take and it demanded newer and smarter technology.Chris’s company has been at the forefront of this change being involved in the design and manufacture of various safety control systems. Part of this evolution was to include the Prolec range of products sourced from the UK and Webbair is now the Australia and New Zealand distributor for the Prolec range of products. As a result of the success of these products, Webbair Prolec was formed in early 2011 in answer to the increasing demand for machine safety control systems and height limiting equipment on the machinery used in the construction, mining and rail industries.
