As a gunners mate I worked on a variety of platforms in support of US operations at home and abroad.2006-2008 Stationed in Okinawa Japan working as a torpedo maintenance technician. I would be responsible for maintaining, refurbishing, troubleshooting and building torpedo's to be used on US warships and aircraft. Driving 6k Diesel and electric forklifts. Driving explosives in trucks ranging from 2 1/2 ton to 7 ton. 2008-2012 Stationed aboard a US Navy carrier I supervised 15 personnel. responsibilities included sourcing and qualifying ammunition to be used for operations and training for shipboard personnel. Training individuals as a Line instructor for gun shoots. Maintaining sprinkler systems for Weapons storage. Subject matter expert for torpedo's. Conducting Quality assurance for all weapons under my supervision. Drove electric and diesel forklifts and drove vehicles up to 7 ton.2015-2017 Stationed aboard US Navy cruiser. I supervised 14 personnel in two different Work centers. Responsibilities were to plan and implement training plans, maintenance plans and write evaluations for subordinates. Observe and assist installation, upkeep, and troubleshooting of Vertical Launch Systems.
