I work as a grader for the Mechanical Engineering Department at UofL. The class that I grade for is ME 380-Computer Aided Design. This class is very enjoyable to grade because I enjoy 3D modeling and using programs such as SolidWorks. I am in charge of grading all the assignments for this course and need to make sure the students get good feedback in a timely manner. This position has improved my time management and SolidWorks skills.

As an SRA my main focus is to make sure that my residents are happy and successful. I often have to help mediate roommate conflicts and do lockouts when my residents have forgotten their keys. I also manage the front desk, this includes making the schedule, keeping any need supplies in stock, and training new desk workers. I am also in charge of creating the RA on call schedule for my RA staff. As the SRA of my building I often help my RA's troubleshoot problems and make sure that they are completing all their required work.

This gives me the chance to help new Freshmen engineering students get a good footing at the school and make sure they excel in and outside the classroom. I was Elected to be the Vice Chair of the RHA professional Development Committee and as such was required to make meeting schedules, run meetings, and collaborate with another member on a presentation that pertained to helping other develop professionally and I also had to present this at one of the RHA general body meetings.

I was elected the President of the Community Park Dorm's RHA and was required to go to biweekly RHA general body meeting's that where run by the RHA Executive Council. I was also required to hold a meeting once a week with my dorms RHA group and discuss information given to us by the exectutive council and work on planning events and initiatives that would help better the students within the dorm.

I began by working in the machine shop where I learned how to use a variety of tools and different machines. I then began to learn how to use SolidWorks and was transitioned into a more design oriented job, where I learned how to more accurately take dimensions and create parts. I also learned how to use a 3D printer for more efficient prototyping. At the end of my Internship (May 2017) I was given a small scholarship for all of my work and offered a part-time position for the summer. During the summer I did more design work with SolidWorks and had other various jobs in the machine shop.
