My engagement came at a critical junction in the businesses' history and at a point in time where the business was primed for transformation.The initial focus was on setting the strategy to 2020 and redefining the 6-business line's USP and GTM. Once this was completed the finance function required a major reset along with the core systems of the business. The major transformational objectives achieved include the following:• Strategy developed and implemented through to June 2020• Capital buyback program, tightening up the share register• Overseas subsidiary closed due to non-performance• Finance team reset both in terms of skills and function• Replacement of two-thirds of the core business systems• Outsourcing and updating the IT function so that it is scalable at low cost• Optimising the working capital and creating flexible financing solutions to support business growth• Introducing BI dashboard reporting and refreshing the management and board reporting packs• Taking the business through its initial external audit• Reducing the operational cost base by 10% on like for like basis• Resetting the sale process and introducing a uniform approach to ensure underlying business performance is more reliable and simultaneously locking down significant IP in the businessThe business has experienced 60% growth in revenues throughout my tenure and with the transformational actions taken; now operates in line with industry leading benchmarks of financial performance.My role in transforming the business has come to an end. In line with the expectations of my initial appointment I have transitioned away from my role as CFO to the team that I hired to operate the business in the BAU state to a strategic growth role.

Initially my role at Rubicor was as a consultant to advise on the restructure strategy. Over time, it became apparent that this role would need to mould into an internal position to ensure that the restructure plan was executed.In January 2016, I was appointed into the role of CFO. As CFO I continued to focus on the restructure strategy with the following major priorities:• Balance sheet impairment – address all issues that were materially impacting on group cash flow• Profit & loss – reduce operational costs and deal with legacy/onerous agreements• Corporate structure – reduce complexity and better align with operations and go to market strategy• Unsecured debts – seek to compromise through formal corporate process• Consolidation of back office – drive the delivery of services across singular platform achieving best practice• Implement – singular GL accounting system (down from 17)• Implement – singular Payroll system (down from 17)• Implement – singular CRM/ATS (down from 7)• Implement – BI reporting tool• Build a high-performance team and associated cultureIn addition to my role as CFO, I was appointed COO in November 2016. At that point, in conjunction with the Board a three-year strategy was formulated. My role as COO focussed on the necessary operational improvements needed to create success for the organisation; productivity was a major focus throughout this period.The restructure work that I was engaged to complete was finalised by mid 2017 and at that time I handed over the BAU operations to the team that I had hired for this purpose.

V Australia Professional Cycling operated in the Marketing/Media industries and undertook 200 days of professional cycling racing across three continents and between six and eight countries annually. 30 cyclists, 10 operational staff and 4 back office personnel were required to deliver on the racing program and other media and compliance activities.Key achievements;• 2010 – No 1 ranking in the USA. (1st Australian team to achieve this ranking)• 2009 – 2010 No 1 ranking in the Oceania region.• 2008 – 2011 No 1 Ranking in Australia.• 220 wins over the last four years.• More than $30 million in media value delivered to sponsors over the last 5 years.• Delivery of business-to-business opportunities for sponsors.
