Employed as a Project Engineer to provide assistance to the Project, Engineering and Site Managers within the SDPED project team as required and to assist in the efficient running of the team and R&D test rigs. Key responsibilities include;To ensure effective communication and coordination on assigned tasks between all disciplines and sub contractors and to ensure that the requirements of the contract are being satisfied. Coordinating assigned engineering work and ensuring that all work is compliant with applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, company and safety standards.Responsible for the two full scale prototype test rigs for the SDPED project including but not limited to installation, implementation of improvements, commissioning and trials.Delivery of work within defined budgets and timescalesEnsuring that the appropriate quality levels are defined and achievedEstablish, manage and integrate the delivery of various sub-contractors necessary to deliver the detail design, manufacture, installation and commissioning of the prototype test rigs.Preparation and implementation of installation method statements, quality plans and safety risk assessments.To utilise my technical knowledge and awareness of details to be able to recognise when technical problems are developing in various areas and to initiate appropriate corrective actions.Manage progress and deliver reports to support the R&D performance management and reporting

Employed as a Project Engineer to provide project controls assistance to the Team Leaders, Project Managers or Business Managers as requested and to assist in the efficient running of the team and projects. Key responsibilities include;To initiate and manage Cat 1 projects to meet technical, quality, cost and programme objectives to the clients satisfaction while delivering or exceeding profit levels for the company.To assist the Project Managers in preparing project instructions and to prepare the engineering section of the Project Execution Plans.To produce work plans, schedules and budgets for projects in conjunction with the individual discipline leads for submission to the Project or Business Managers for approval.To baseline and update the project schedule and produce monthly progress and cost reports or interim reports as required.Ensure that all engineering work on the projects are completed in line with company policies and procedures.To establish and maintain the systems for measuring technical progress and productivity and to facilitate and establish the means of coordination of engineering work between engineering disciplines and other project groups.Through the Business Manager and Client, arrange for the appointment of suitably qualified technical staff.Preparation of project instructions for the engineering work on the projects and communication and coordination of these instructions between the company, the client and other organisations.Monitoring of scope change on project and production of early warning or compensation event notices where required.To keep the Project and Business Managers informed of the current estimate at completion of the projects.

Employed as a Section Engineer responsible for coordination of all technical activities on assigned projects at various nuclear power stations across the UK. Key responsibilities include;Planning, scheduling and coordinating assigned engineering work and ensuring that all work is compliant with applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, company, safety and nuclear standards.To ensure effective communications and coordination on assigned projects between all disciplines and sub contractors and to ensure that the requirements of the contract are being satisfied. To promote and implement the Doosan Babcock Energy and EDF Energy safety culture throughout all projects from concept to completion.As an EDF Level 3 Field Supervisor brief all members of the working party and ensure adherence to any safety measures as listed in any personally retained or card safe retained permits in my possession along with all relevant risk assessments.To utilise my technical knowledge and awareness of details to be able to recognise when technical problems are developing in various disciplines and to initiate appropriate corrective actions.Coordination and checking of engineering deliverables.Weekly and Monthly project status reports and change orders.Preparation and implementation of installation method statements, quality plans and safety risk assessments.To ensure that the EDF work order card system is correctly utilised and any LFE is captured to assist with future projects.Mobilisation and demobilisation of manpower and equipment.

Sellafield

Employed across various Sellafield Projects to ensure that work allocated is supervised, checked and accepted to a verifiable quality, together with integration of this work with that of other Engineering disciplines. To assist with the production and delivery, as required, of documentation to produce the construction work packs. Responsible for ensuring that site work is planned and coordinated to meet programmed dates. To ensure that work is effectively managed to time and cost. Responsible for ensuring contractors and their supervisors are suitably qualified to carry out their respective roles. To ensure that contractors and their supervisors are monitored on an on going basis and that contractors’ management take positive action to maintain safety, health and environmental arrangements to the highest possible standards. Responsible for liaising with designers and project personnel to ensure correct interpretation of their requirements and obtain authorisation for modifications consequent upon site conditions.To coordinate interfaces between contractors, designers, operators and client, at site level to ensure the flow of relevant information is uninterrupted.To provide effective communication and coordination, liaise on interface working and ensure that site work overall is planned and coordinated to achieve construction programme dates.To ensure that the relevant site management system arrangements and where applicable, project specific procedures are implemented and complied with.When leading an element of the construction team supervise, guide and coordinate them in accordance with the identified procedures and instructions.Responsible for assisting with the discharge of principle contractor duties as outlined in the construction, design and management regulations as a nominated representative when required.
