About Christopher Williams, Phd, Cscs

In 2010 I started the Power Training Program at the College at Brockport - a collaboration between the Biomechanics Lab and Athletics Department to develop explosive power in our student-athletes. Over 500 athletes across 23 sports have participated. In addition, over 230 undergraduate exercise science students have worked as part of a research team to administer the program. The Power Training Program (PTP) is unique in the world, using principles in biomechanics and strength and conditioning to develop exercises, sequencing, and periodization protocols. The PTP uses responsive kinetic technology that responds uniquely with an individualized resistive force, providing optimal neuromuscular training conditions. Research in the Biomechanics Lab investigates rate of force development, explosive power, joint stability, and risk of injury. As a result its success, I have consulted with many teams and institutions, including the US Olympic Track and Field team, Russian Ministry of Sport, NY Knicks, Sacramento Kings, and Philadelphia Flyers, each of whom have used strategies I developed to meet their individual needs.Building off the success of the Power Training Program, I launched Madman Performance Incorporated in 2017. Offering consulting, training, and a biomechanical approach to human performance, Madman Performance specializes in competitive peaking for athletes across all sports and ages. Like the Power Training Program, Madman Performance is unique in its application of scientific theory and biomechanical research methods to assess, evaluate, and enhance skill-specific performance. Tools include the use of motion capture, force platforms, electromyography, functional capacity evaluation, and responsive kinetic technologies. Madman Performance is unmatched in its ability to use biomechanics and empirical evidence to evaluate the human performer, diagnose areas of strength and weakness, and prescribe training to target peak performance for competition.
