I get to exercise my curiosity and true passion for learning and solving complex problems in the field of materials research predominantly for aerospace applications. I have developed novel materials technologies, investigated surface chemical and topographical engineering techniques, and interrogated interaction forces from the macromolecular to macroscopic scale. This backdrop of fundamental science and engineering principles is applied to solving challenges with contamination of commercial aircraft wing leading edges, mitigation of lunar dust impact on extended lunar surface missions, improving composite manufacturing rates using automated fiber placement, and pushing the boundaries of novel, multifunctional materials systems.
