PresidentTina Schweiger leads a team of marketing professionals. She founded Spoonbend in Austin, Tx, in 2002, and has built and sold agencies 2 times over the last two decades. During that time, she has provided brand and digital strategy to over 500 businesses, from non-profits to start-ups to Fortune 50 companies. An avid expert in User Experience and Human Centered Design, Tina has earned a Master's Degree at Harvard University in Industrial / Organizational Psychology. She enjoys reading, learning, and inventing technology.Over the years, Tina’s business has consulted with over 1000 small businesses. We have a team of very intelligent people on the autism spectrum, that are mentoring other people on the spectrum. We also have amazing volunteers who help us with job coaching, resume writing and so much more. We offer training for companies to be neurodiverse friendly. Training the employer and the employees is vital to the success of having people on the spectrum in the workplace. We believe that employer's need to recognize the potential of people on the spectrum to help them grow their companies. We are a 501c3 non-profit dedicated to enhancing and developing the lives of people on the autism spectrum. It is believed that one quarter of the world population has autism spectrum disorder. 500,000 + teenagers will transition into adulthood every year who have autism in the United States. Many people think autism means you are either slow or a savant. Many Autistic people are geniuses, but struggle in other areas. Look at Elon Musk who is a genius yet needs the help of a team in certain areas that he struggles with due to Asperger's.Many of these people on the spectrum or with mental health problems are struggling with executive functioning skills, life management skills, relationships, job skills, leadership skills, social interaction and much more. This is causing them to destroy their credit, finances, relationships and lives. The homeless rate continues to rise and Adult children are now living at home sometimes up into their 40's. We are dedicated to teaching and helping these individuals with the skills and tools they need to thrive. We are working towards building residential housing and vacation properties designed specifically for the autistic community and their families.Minds of Light is not only a non-profit but also a lifestyle brand for adults on the spectrum. Autistic people are NOT a puzzle piece and most definitely are NOT a puzzle to be solved. We currently have support groups in Southern California where we serve autistic adults and their families.
