I'm typically in the first wave of those testing new ideas, products, and ways of doing business.I cut my teeth in the reengineering decade of the 1990s (a precursor of digital transformation) when leaders started asking, “Given current technology, if we recreated this organization today, what would it look like?” Their answers led to new processes that could not have existed before ... which in turn led to new types of jobs, organizational structures, comp plans, etc. ... which in turn created enormous improvements in customer outcomes, speed of execution, efficiency, and overall competitiveness. I worked on a series of these projects for large companies, many of them in the automotive industry. In terms of industry experience, have broad and deep experience in automotive distribution and retailing:- The Honda dealership I owned and operated was ranked by Honda as #1 in the USA for customer satisfaction.- My Honda and CDJR dealerships were consistently top performers in local market penetration and customer satisfaction.- I owned and operated a Tire Pros store (a great learning experience but an unsuccessful business) - I was the CFO of a Wards-100 dealer group.- I led the business strategy team for Organic (then one of the largest digital global marketing firms) in support of its largest client, DaimlerChrysler.- I worked in Merrill Lynch's security research group to initiate coverage on a global auto manufacturer. - I spent a decade consulting to global auto manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, dealer groups, marketing agencies, technology providers, and other organizations serving the auto industry.
