As a long-time advocate for student success, Chris has spent the past 15 years promoting the adoption of practices and policies that increase the likelihood that students will complete a postsecondary credential. Chris’ work is driven by the steadfast belief that education is a great societal equalizer and that attainment of credentials beyond the high school diploma is an absolute prerequisite for gaining the skills individuals need to thrive in the 21st century. Chris has worked with college, regional, state, and national partners to advance the “completion agenda” – a reform movement founded on best practices for equitably improving outcomes for all students. This agenda is especially relevant for individuals from low-income and underrepresented backgrounds facing significant structural barriers to success. Chris is a recognized authority on college reform efforts and recently launched his own consulting business to continue to partner with college leaders, state policymakers, researchers, funders, and national intermediaries to advance the completion agenda.
