- Maintains responsibility for key Accounting functions (i.e. cash, investments, accounts receivable, prepaids, fixed assets, internally developed software, notes receivable, notes payable, leases, deferred rent, accounts payable, customer advances, accrued expenses, income taxes, rebates, payroll, etc.)- Uses Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and controls that will prevent/reduce risk of potential misstatements or misappropriations- Ensures timely reconciliation of all general ledger accounts that underlie the financial statements- Implement standard accounting controls, analysis, and reporting procedures- Assists in the budgeting process and ensures that a timely and accurate budget is produced and approved by leadership. Prepares reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations

- Prepares and posts journal entries and reconciliations for accounts receivable, prepaid accounts receivable, and deferred accounts receivable for various campuses under Bridgepoint - Prepares monthly reconciliations of cash, liability, and asset accounts for appropriate balance sheet reporting- Works with Controller and General Ledger Accountants to ensure appropriate reporting of various cash accounts- Maintains restricted cash accounts in compliance under SOX regulations- Works on a quarterly and annual basis with Deloitte Auditors to ensure financial reporting is accurate and to provide them with documentation for audit schedules- Manages bank reconciliations on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis

- Oversaw the daily work processed by Direct Bill Clerks- Coordinated with offshore team on their daily workload and ongoing projects- Approved necessary money transfers and check requests- Helped transition newly acquired companies into existing accounting systems - Worked with senior and staff accountants to ensure operating accounts reconcile

- Ensured that producer commissions were posted correctly and in a timely manner- Maintained monthly bank reconciliations for more than 10 operating accounts - Worked with the general ledger team to ensure that all receivables were accounted for - Compiled daily data entry batches for offshore team

- Assisted in the maintenance of clients’ retirement accounts - Made journal entries to the company’s general ledger for fees and other necessary transactions - Processed account distributions through check, wire, automated clearing house (ACH) and journaling to other accounts- Conducted quality checks of processes completed by other LPL associates - Handled service requests from financial advisors
