Served as an Associate Attorney in the firm’s active practice of federal civil trial litigation dealing with matters related to General Torts, Personal Injury, Medical Malpractice, Commercial Litigation, Employment Discrimination, Insurance Litigation, among others.Responsible for taking and defending factual and expert depositions, jury trial preparation as well as appearances in federal and state court. Supervised client intake, interviewed potential clients and conducted in-depth factual and legal analysis of their claim, while performing other legal duties, including the drafting of pleadings, discovery requests and responses, among other. Assisted in the recruiting process and assigned and supervised law clerks’ work.

Gained significant experience in litigation and appellate practice; drafting and filing all kinds of trial related legal documents via SUMAC and CM/ECF system, including complaints, answers to complaints, motions for summary judgment, proposed judgments and appeals. Second-chaired trials. Took and defended depositions and appeared in federal and state court on behalf of individual and corporate clients. Conducted successful settlement discussions in anticipation of litigation and at settlement conferences against multiple parties. Prepared witnesses for depositions and trials. As part of the Federal Law section for the Legal Aid Clinic, and in the assigned case, I had the opportunity to interview the client, explain to him the overall process of his case throughout our several meetings, translate documents, identify legal issues, generate possible solutions, draft memoranda, and appear before the Unites States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico, in representation of client's interests.

Translated legal documents, studied cases and attended many hearings with Attorney Pepe Rey in Barcelona, Spain.

Visited all kinds of Nonprofit Organizations throughout the City and met with their directors in order to find out their needs. Drafted reports that were sent to the Mayor and to the City Administrator. Helped in the organization of activities for the communities working along with the Nonprofit Organizations.
