This role was as RGM at a Yum’s KFC outlet. I was taken on to turn around this underperforming drive thru asset, and I successfully achieved this through the utilisation of my extensive retail and hospitality experience. My strong leadership style and commercial awareness in combination with my ability to motivate and drive a team, enabled me to improve service, standards and productivity, thus maximising sales, profit and efficiency.

My role with this family oriented restaurant allowed me to use my strong sales and marketing skills to transform one of the poorest performing sites within the brand. My ability to analyse problems, motivate a team, and devise and implement a recovery plan; all proved crucial in turning the site around. I used my exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills to mentor and train several members of staff up to management positions.

I was handpicked to play a key role in the training and support team, responsible for the opening of the first Harvester outlet at a MOTO service station. I utilised my strong communication and team working skills to liaise with my colleagues and external professionals. This was the first fully licensed operation in the motorway system and the beginning of a successful and exciting partnership between M&B and MOTO – so it was vital that all went to plan and problems were solved effectively. I demonstrated exceptional initiative and creativity in this role, resulting in a fantastic outcome for the brand.

My time in this role really allowed me to utilise my management and training skills and pass on my knowledge to others, thus sharing knowledge and ideas across the brand. I demonstrated my confidence and ability to work independently in a very pressurised and challenging environment, resulting in outstanding sales growth and profit, as well as outstanding employee satisfaction, resulting in low turnover of staff.

During this period I was responsible for playing an integral part in transforming an underperforming asset into the busiest restaurant in Wales and the third busiest licensed restaurant in the UK. My tenacity and ability to plan ahead and deliver these plans within a pressurised environment enabled me to get the rest of the team on board and drive forward to an exceptional outcome.
