Tidepool is open source, not-for-profit effort to liberate data from diabetes devices, support researchers, and provide great, free software to the diabetes community whose mission is to make diabetes data more accessible, actionable and meaningful by providing a safe, secure, HIPAA compliant platform to people with diabetes, their clinicians, and diabetes researchers. Now we're work working on Tidepool Loop, an iPhone app that has been cleared by the FDA (January 2023) as an interoperable automated glycemic controller (iAGC) that pairs with an ACE insulin pump and an iCGM using Bluetooth wireless communication. The app is designed to take in information about glucose and adjust your pump’s basal insulin rates as often as every five minutes.When commercially released, the app to be available for download from the App Store and compatible with commercially-available, in-warranty insulin pumps and CGMs, leveraging the interoperable regulatory pathway set by the FDA. Learn more at https://tidepool.org/loop.As Community and Clinic Success Manager, I represent Tidepool in as many public settings as possible, including but not limited to social media, email communication, and appearances at diabetes events (back when we used to do in-person things), helping foster an open dialog between patients, providers, researchers, and developers with the goal of making diabetes management a little bit easier.I also engage with Endocrinologists, Registered Nurses, Diabetes Care and Education Specialists, Nutritionists, as well as IT and legal staff explaining the ins and outs of our free software that integrates and visualizes data from diabetes devices in a single, standardized format.
