For the past 16 years I have co-managed an investment partnership, TurnMark Partners LP, Ifounded alongside a business partner. TurnMark is a long/short, concentrated, value focusedhedge fund. Previously in my career, I started on an institutional sales trading desk in SanFrancisco for 2 years which was acquired by Wells Fargo Securities midway through my tenure. Iwas then hired by my first client, Cannell Capital LLC, to solely manage the trading operationwithin this $1 billion AUM small cap equities focused fund for nearly 7 years.I have 23 years of buyside experience that I believe is valuable to an established fund or aneffort on the part of individuals spinning off from such a substantial entity. I can wear many hatsas being a business owner, it comes with the territory.I am an ambitious, detail oriented, anticipatory, independent, deep thinker, that is a well readand informed team player. I have a passion for harvesting investment ideas through my ownprocess I have developed over the years that seeks out the inflection point of businessesundergoing temporary challenges and whereby the fundamentals and technical attributesdemonstrate a positive change is afoot. Value investing, but with a catalyst and a chart thatindicates there is willingness among the investment community to care that this company’sstory is improving and will therefore be worth more. I look at most everything, except forcompanies that require a strong scientific or medical background to understand. I believe inlooking at all market capitalizations as to not limit my universe of attractive investments giventhat the definition of value can vary. I also believe in a limited number of positions andconcentration in one’s best ideas that exhibit the qualities I search for, namely a meaningfulbrand, product or service that has experienced fixable disappointments and has a capablemanagement team that offers solutions and is preferably incentivized by equity compensationto assure alignment with shareholders concerns.I believe my contrarian bent, healthy skepticism, love of lifelong learning and ability to focus on ideas that others are overlooking for various reasons would be immediately additive to any firm that would welcome such an approach. Additionally, I consider myself to be a strong representative of any employer given my demeanor and optimistic attitude towards professional matters.
