Provide ergonomics support and subject matter expertise to City divisions and employees

Conducted telephone interviews, analyzed contractual, medical and vocational information to make decisions on short-term complex disability claims and maintained regular communication with employees, employers and physicians. Adjudicated claims, conducted regular follow ups throughout the duration of the absence, identified and implemented medical, occupational and/or psychological interventions where appropriate to facilitate a safe and timely return to work.

- Perform Functional Abilities Evaluations, Physical Demands and Ergonomic Assessments across various industries for insurers, corporations and third party payers. Prepare technical reports outlining findings and recommendations.

- Completed ergonomic assessments and physical demands analyses for over 150 shop floor processes, identified hazards, recommended corrective actions and worked collaboratively within cross functional teams to implement ergonomic improvements, decreasing overall site ergonomic risk by 50% and generating more than $3M in cost savings- Developed and delivered ergonomic best practices training to over 400 shop floor employees- Improved employee engagement and satisfaction and developed relationships with key stakeholders, leading to increased site ergonomics participation and management buy in on future ergonomics projects- Established standards for the use of benchmarking, operator feedback and ergonomic design guidelines in the development of new processes, equipment and tooling, which improved the overall effectiveness of the ergonomics program - Investigated ergonomic-related workplace injuries, identified root causes, and provided subject matter expertise to HR, Medical and Health and Safety teams, which greatly improved return to work outcomes- Helped lead site to 6 company-wide Ergonomic Innovation Awards, 2 Corporate EH&S Awards, 2 International Ergo Cup appearances, and 2 Pioneer Award nominations for Environmental Health and Safety

- Oversaw the corporate ergonomics program for 15 international sites and over 10,000 employees, with an annual operating budget of over $2M- Provided sites with project funding, subject matter expertise and remote and in-person technical support, which led to a 40% reduction in global ergonomic risk and millions of dollars in cost savings- increased sites’ compliance and alignment with global ergonomic risk reduction initiatives through the implementation of a company-wide web-based ergonomics assessment tool and development of a global ergonomic risk reduction metrics tracking and reporting system

- Designed and delivered rehabilitative exercise programs for various patient populations- Established an evidence-based functional evaluation, rehabilitation and work conditioning program, including the completion of over 100 Functional Abilities Evaluations, Physical Demands and Ergonomic Assessments, which greatly improved patient outcomes and increased company revenues by over 30%- Collaborated regularly with allied health professionals, WSIB, employers, union representatives and third-party insurers to ensure that patients returned to work in a safe and timely manner
