With the global downturn in oil & gas prices Christopher has taken pursuit of some of his other talents, namely creative writing. From Q4, 2014 to Q1, 2017 (ongoing) Christopher has been writing screenplays for film and teleplays for cable TV, including a landmark series on the life of Herod The Great (TV drama episodic)From Q4, 2013 to Q3, 2014 Christopher served as a Geological Advisor to Occidental Petroleum (Oxy) in Long Beach, California. Drilling activities in the Hunting Beach field targeted the TM Sand ('Top Miocene' stratigraphically & in age) in horizontal wells - both onshore and from the offshore Emmy platform. From 2009-2013 he worked for Koch Oil Sands in northern Alberta, contributing to numerous development projects and at least two major SAGD thermal applications in the Athabasca OSA. Prior to the collapse in natural gas prices in early 2009, Mr. Collom was responsible for drilling and reservoir development in the Tommy Lakes gas field in northeastern British Columbia, a ~6,300 BOE property with estimated OGIP of 400 BCF. Producing from the Triassic Halfway and Doig formations, this gas reservoir is the largest such Triassic age field in Western Canada. During the Winter,’08 program 17 of 17 gas wells were successfully drilled and tied-in, and during Winter,’09 14 of 14 step-out & infill wells were drilled.Mr Collom holds a PhD in Geology.
Listed skills include Sedimentology, Petroleum Geology, Stratigraphy, Earth Science, and 21 others.
