I am passionate about improving the resilience of our energy systems and expanding access to renewable energy. I apply my critical thinking skills and academic background in physics and mechanical engineering to complex energy problems. I enjoy the mutual learning and teaching shared with my colleagues, who challenge and broaden my thinking with their own perspectives and experiences. I am looking for opportunities where I can leverage my skills and expertise in energy system modeling and analysis to support the clean energy transition and make a positive difference in the world.As a software quality operations specialist, I leveraged my writing skills and leadership experience training junior team members and writing the training and SOP documentation for my team. My work increased process efficiency and reduced company costs by 1) shortening training sessions through clear and concise training resources, and 2) reducing data re-collection requests by providing clear and detailed data collection instructions in the SOP documentation. As an energy analyst at Oregon State University, I worked in coordination with the Northwest Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Technical Assistance Partnership and Oregon State University's Industrial Assessment Center to assess the financial feasibility and impact of CHP systems across the Northwest region. I conducted on-site energy audits, interviewed CHP site owners and engineers, and researched policies and incentives relevant to CHP projects. This work reduced energy costs for industrial and commercial clients whose facilities were a good fit for CHP. I have also contributed to multiple CHP project profiles that were published by the US Department of Energy, which increased market awareness of CHP technologies and their potential benefits to users.My academic work as a graduate student inspired my career focus in energy modeling. I developed an open-source tool in Python for economic and emissions analysis of small-scale CHP systems coupled with thermal storage. This tool is published and freely available to researchers to use as-is or modify to their particular needs. The software enables comparison of multiple CHP operation strategies at once, which is convenient and efficient for users interested in optimizing CHP operation.I look forward to leveraging my communication, leadership, and engineering problem-solving skills to help your company reach its goals.
