HSBC is a New York-based corporate bank providing a wide range of financial services to consumers and businesses.After successfully launching and providing early leadership to Bank of America’s Fixed Income Origination Desk, I was hired by HSBC leadership to direct its agency relationships and Debt Origination activities in an effort to move HSBC into a “top ten” agency scoreboard underwriter.In addition, I served in an advisory capacity in ancillary business projects that including Sukuk financing (the Islamic equivalent of Bonds), covered bond opportunities, Basle II implications (risk management), structured non domestic MTN business (emerging markets in the Middle East and Africa), mortgage reviews and general derivative business.Some notable contributions included:★ Created and implemented an extensive, customized roadshows to the agencies with the goal of showcasing our products and services. In 2002 I was approached by BOA leadership and challenged to position the Bank as lead manager of institutional agency securities. Together with other BOA leaders in New York, I drove development and launch of BOA’s first Fixed Income Origination desk. Having worked in London for more than six years, this was a great opportunity to work in another of the world’s top three financial and investment banking centers while developing and managing relationships with leading US Government Sponsored Entities (GSE) that included The Federal Farm Credit Bank (FFCB), Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) and the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (FHLMC). Coverage included Supra-nationals, Agencies, Sovereigns, Quasi Sovereign and cross border finance accounts in Australia and Canada.
