I am the organizer that brings people together to meet, eat, create, and experience in an environment that invites them to do so.Through my years of experience in the Hospitality Culinary Industry I have gained a breadth of skills, knowledge, and passion for providing exemplary guest service in a variety of places, roles, and sectors. This positions me well for my transition into the hotel, conference, and event planning sectors. This experience came after obtaining a certification with honors from Seattle Culinary Academy, an American Culinary Federation certified two year Culinary Arts Program located in Seattle Central Community College. Seattle Culinary Academy, the first culinary school west of the Mississippi trained cooks for the U.S. Navy, before being absorbed into the Seattle Community College System.Having an opportunity to travel to Great Britain for a six month internship working for Stakis Aberdeen City Hotel with sponsorship coming from the British American Business Council and British Consulate in Seattle, awarded to myself and another fellow student. The internship involved setting up, opening, and learning front of the house operations for an American themed restaurant within the hotel property. This was a highlight of my Culinary School experience. While in Britain I was employed in the hotel's primary restaurant Miller's. In addition to valuable front of the house experience, banqueting service, and participating in the opening of the location, my fellow intern and I were let loose to design, purchase, prepare, and market to hotel guests, a special themed night event based around the American holiday of Thanksgiving. The event was a success, selling out the dining room and sharing some of the cultural and historical traditions of Thanksgiving to British and European guests of the hotel.
