    Received a grant to study the grain boundary motion of diblock copoymers, with the goal of determining the rate of grain size with respect to time. To this end, a stage/platform was designed to allow the application of electric fields to, and control the temperature of the polymers, in order to get the desired starting conditions. In designing the stage, simulations were created in Mathematica to model the heat flow of the polymer and the stage to verify the temperature profile. Additionally a simulation was made to model the electric field for a variety of electrode designs, to determine which would provide the best aligning field.
