Responsible for assisting the executive director with the day-to-day management of communication projects and marketing activities of the Association. Assists with special projects. Handles all communication related activities for grant-related initiatives. The position provides assistance with writing and editing related to government relations/public affairs initiatives for the Association As part of the communications team, assists with media relations efforts, developing communications campaigns, writing and editing of organizational marketing communication products and conference collateral. •Manages all grant funded communication projects for the Association and writes related news announcements and shareable content, including for web and social media. Handles grant-related meetings and submits follow up reports to grant funders as needed.•This position assists with special communication projects in the advancement and marketing division.•Assists with media outreach and media trade partnerships.•Assists with news posts as part of the communications team for conferences and events hosted by the Association. Assists with social media support at key HACU events as needed.•Serves as the assistant editor of The Voice of Hispanic Higher Education magazine, a quarterly publication, published four times a year.•Assists with writing and editing news briefs, feature articles, and creative content for print and online publications, flyers, and communication products.•Assists with review of marketing communication collateral for conferences, including writing/editing scripts.•Writes and distributes news releases and assists with member-related alerts.•Proofreads/edits official communications, publications, government/public affairs communication from HACU’s D.C. and California office.•Works closely with communication staff and assists with ensuring that all creative services and products are delivered within the prescribed time frame.
