    Weather Standards And Evaluations
Us Air Force Reserve Apr 2017 - Sep 2018
As an evaluator, I am responsible for ensuring standards of job performance are adequate to meet mission requirements while also ensuring those standards are consistently applied in the certifications of the only 20 aerial reconnaissance weather officers in the world trained for operational reconnaissance of tropical cyclones. An Aerial Reconnaissance Weather Officer (ARWO) is the onboard mission director for the reconnaissance flights into tropical storms, hurricanes, and winter storms in support of national security objectives. They collect customer requirements, play an integral role in mission planning, and direct recon missions within the storm environment. While in flight they conduct complex data quality control measures and analysis, qualitative storm structure analysis, and interface with the National Hurricane Center in real time. As mission requirements change they assess available resources and determine the most efficient and effective method to meet customer expectations.Aerial Reconnaissance Weather Officers also conduct media events from speaking with kids in the local community to conducting nationally televised interviews during hurricane season. This requires ARWOs to be able to communicate highly technical information in a simple and effective way.

Instructor Aerial Reconnaissance Weather Officer (Arwo)
Us Air Force Reserve Jul 2014 - Apr 2017
As an instructor, I am responsible for ensuring standards of job performance are exhibited, instructed, and retained by new ARWOs as well as ARWOs upgrading to instructor status. Training is conducted in the classroom environment where syllabi and course material are developed in advance as well as in hands-on training in-flight to include reconnaissance missions into tropical cyclones. In these scenarios, instruction style may vary from demonstrating proper procedures and judgement to students to impromptu instruction on the nuances of directing flight missions in the tropical cyclone environment.
