Gather the data from sensors and apply some well designed algorithms could bring a predictive analysis for maintenance.Our thesis was about the change of Buisness Model given the above technologies for larger manufacturing companies. The concept is called Product Service Systems (PSS), or Servitization and would enable the manufacturer to "rent" out their products to their customers, enabling the full usage of the product as the manufacturer still collects the data and is responsible for the maintenance. Saving costs for their clients and optiminzing the usability of their own products, hence increase the life time.
