CurrentAs President of BITS, the technology policy division of the Bank Policy Institute, I lead a program for CEO's, CIO's and CISO's of the nation’s largest banks and financial institutions. Our focus includes working with members, regulators, and policymakers to advance technology while promoting safety, soundness, and resilience in financial services. BITS leads the development of cybersecurity and risk practices to secure the financial industry, protect consumers and set policy for the long term well-being of the financial sector. Chris works with member firms in areas such as cybersecurity, board governance, regulatory requirements, governance and operating policy, critical infrastructure protection, operational and cyber resilience, fraud reduction and technology innovation - including cloud computing and the use of machine learning and artificial intelligence. In this role, Chris has worked with member executives developing and launching multiple businesses to support the financial sector. These services range from offering highly secure website domains, to developing global cybersecurity standards, to improving data protection. These companies services are used across the industry to help avoid and minimize the most sophisticated cyber attacks, to mitigate the occurrence and potential impact of ransomware, and to reduce frauds and scams in a traditional and digital world. Chris is a regular advisor to firms and is frequently asked to serve as a featured speaker, interviewee, panelist and moderator covering topics such as cybersecurity and risk management, cyber board governance, critical infrastructure protection, public/private partnerships and emerging technology - artificial intelligence in financial services, cloud computing and digital migration. Chris' work developing and hosting the FinTech Ideas Festival or, now in its in 7th year, as co-organizer of the annual Philadelphia Federal Reserve FinTech Conference, are examples of this work.
