With nearly 25 years of educational experience in diverse capacities and settings, I am a nationally recognized, dynamic, and visionary leader passionate about improving student achievement, developing the capacity of the entire learning community, and promoting social justice and equity. I have a strong commitment to black male achievement, the arts, and providing a progressive, safe, and culturally relevant learning environment for all students.I proudly teach a course entitled "Race and Diversity in Children's and Young Adult Books: Reading Between the Lines" at Temple University, where I am also pursuing my EdD in Executive Leadership. Previously, I served as the President of Girard College, a historic boarding school for low-income students, and as the Chief Equity Officer of Thrive Chicago. This nonprofit organization partners with the Obama Foundation and other stakeholders to support the success of boys and young men of color. In these roles, I demonstrated my fundraising, nonprofit management, staff development, and community engagement skills. I am a consummate and polished professional with a strong work ethic, integrity in practice, and superior communication skills.
