I wrote my first web test about 20 years ago (using watir) and have been fascinated with test automation ever since. Even today, there is still something a little bit magical about watching a test run, filling out forms, clicking buttons, making assertions, and doing the work so I don't have to. Not long after, I had the privilege of working in an Agile / Extreme Programming (XP) shop (Carfax) before it was popular to be Agile. We were doing XP by the book, which meant pair programming 100% of the time and test-driven development. Not a line of code went to production untested. It was here I learned to appreciate the benefits of testing --- and also appreciate how hard it is to get fast, reliable, and cost-effective test runs.After leaving Carfax, I went to Resonate, where I was Director of Information Quality. This meant hiring a test automation team, building out the testing framework, setting up CI/CD to run tests, and writing tests for websites, APIs, data pipelines, and AI/ML. Yep, I was responsible for testing thousands of AI/ML models nearly a decade before ChatGPT.In 2017, I had an opportunity to start Testery. I started Testery with the vision of creating the world's best test automation platform --- something turn key and full stack. And we've done just that. Our platform has run over 50M tests for paying customers. We also discovered a market need for better professional services in test automation.
