About Christopher Hersey
For as long as I can remember I have been a “builder and creator” at heart. From a preschooler hammering nails at a workbench until sparks flew (true story to the horror of my teacher) to my dream of running complex construction jobs, I am thankful to do what I love and love what I do.I have had the opportunity to work equally in heavy civil and vertical building construction, providing me with first-hand experience of the differences and similarities in both sectors. I have also had the good fortune of leading numerous projects from pursuit through construction, running the gamut of clients, contract deliveries and negotiations. One thing I have learned is that there is no silver bullet for every project or client. The key is to listen and observe, then act with laser focus. Following are a few career highlights:• Harvard University ERC and NASDEP – as PX led the pursuit & 4-year precon. into construction• Wellesley College Master 2025 Plan – as SPM managed estimating and precon. on $500 million plan• Completion of 60+ projects large and small – progressing from PM, SPM to PXAs Vice President on the Executive Board of the Boston Society of Civil Engineers Section (BSCES), the oldest Engineering Society in America, I am humbled by the historical and contemporary company I keep. I am deeply invested in the growth and development of the engineering & construction community. One of my early mentors shared with me the importance of maintaining the big picture, providing consistent team leadership, and prioritizing the satisfaction of the client. My goal as a “builder and creator” is to always remember these sage words and lead innovative and diverse teams to the next engineering achievement.
