Lead investigating officer within serious and organised crime engaged in the investigation of drug traffickers and money launderers. This sensitive and challenging role requires the use of covert intelligence and strong evidential gathering skills. This position requires strong engagement with diverse international groups and individuals involved in serious organised crime throughout London and the Home Counties. I work closely, with International law enforcement agencies identifying and seizing criminal assets.

Working as the team leader with a partnership agency I was actively engaged in the gathering and dissemination of highly sensitive intelligence. The need for absolute discretion and sound judgement was essential in this role. I gained exceptional results in relation to the investigation of the misuse of controlled drugs, the recovery of firearms and the seizure of criminal assets.This position demanded an impelling need to prioritise tasks, with severe restrictions of funds and officer numbers; this often necessitated sensitive negotiation with senior partners and strong influencing skills. The need to draw in and engage with numerous groups was essential to making this posting as successful with numerous positive outcomes.

This role required the fast and efficient gathering and analysis of intelligence enabling me to identify cost savings in terms of overtime and deployed assets and the prompt positive resolution of appropriate cases. Subsequently, having negotiated a budget, I identified further potential saving without risk to operations. Throughout this posting I worked closely with numerous financial Institutions in the regulatory and non-regulatory sectors responding to intelligence gained from Suspicious Activity Reports.

I began my service as a constable and worked my way steadily through a wide range of training and development allowing me to successfully transfer to detective duties after demonstrating an intelligent and competent eye for detail, enquiry and observation and clear success at professional personal interaction. My detective work offered me a broad range of experience including specialist investigations including those into drug trafficking, burglary and murder in addition to a broader range of policing skills. I served at Shepherds Bush, Ealing and Uxbridge Police Stations and on the South East Regional Crime Squad, National Crime Squad and 5 Area Drug Squad. I was promoted to Detective Sergeant in 2001 and posted to Ealing and Acton CID where I lead the crime , drug and robbery squads.
