Christopher Holz is a seasoned public affairs executive with over twenty years of experience working with government decision makers and clients across several public policy areas. He has served clients in various sectors including energy (Northland Power, Boralex, EnerCare, Sithe Global Power, The Sub-Metering Council of Ontario, RES Canada), real estate and infrastructure development (Cadillac Fairview, The Las Vegas Sands Corporation, MGM Resorts and Casinos, Sheridan College, Tennis Canada), financial services (DBRS, AMEX, TMX Group), retail (Ivanhoe Cambridge, YellowPages), health care (The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, Shoppers Drug Mart, Rexall-PharmaPlus, the Canadian Association of Chain Drug Stores, Sick Kids Hospital, The Scarborough Hospital), among others. In 2014, Mr. Holz and his colleagues led a pro bono campaign for Canada’s survivors of thalidomide which received national media coverage and resulted in a unanimous vote in the House of Commons (a rare feat). The campaign secured a funding agreement from the Government of Canada of over $180 million to support Canada’s remaining survivors.Mr. Holz was recently ranked as “one of the top ten lobbyists at Queen’s Park” according to Queen’s Park Briefing, a Toronto Star Intelligence Unit publication.From 2005 to 2007, Mr. Holz served as Senior Communications Advisor and speechwriter for the Ontario Minister of Energy and the Chair of the Cabinet. Mr. Holz was responsible for the Minister's communications strategy on a number of policy initiatives including Ontario's renewable, nuclear and conservation policy decisions, as well as Ontario's first energy supply mix directive (Ontario's 20-year energy plan). Following the 2007 provincial election, Mr. Holz served as Senior Advisor, Policy to the Ontario Minister of Finance and Chair of the Treasury Board/Management Board of Cabinet. At Finance, he was the policy lead for health, financial securities (including the Ontario Securities Commission), pensions, and social services, and contributed to the development of the 2007 Fall Economic Statement and 2008 Ontario Budget.Previously, he served as Vice President of Public Affairs at another consultancy, from 2000-2005.
