Christopher Allen joined Dickstein Shapiro in 2007. Mr. Allen is an associate in the State Attorneys General Practice. He represents clients primarily in connection with state government investigations and complex public policy issues, including outreach, negotiations, and litigations involving consumer protection, pharmaceutical products, data breach, information security compliance, antitrust, and environmental issues. As part of the firm’s State Attorneys General Practice, Mr. Allen has represented clients before state governments on a wide range of matters. He has represented a major pharmaceutical company in connection with complex, multistate investigations and litigations regarding the pricing of prescription drugs. In the consumer protection context, he has represented clients in state government investigations, negotiations, and litigations in the areas of student lending and telecommunications services. In the realm of data privacy and information security, he has advised clients of their legal notice and compliance responsibilities stemming from data breaches and has represented them before State Attorneys General in connection with these incidents. Mr. Allen represented clients in formulating outreach strategies to state governments on issues such as pharmaceutical pricing, prescription drug coverage, and proposed legislation banning manufacturers’ use of specific chemicals. He has worked to obtain the amici curiae support of State Attorneys General in litigation before the U.S. Supreme Court on issues related to antitrust liability and the availability of punitive damages. He also is active in pro bono practice, including representing the Society of Former Agents of the FBI as amicus curiae before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit on the issue of federal tort liability.
