I'm a senior development professional with decades of growing responsibility within multilateral, non-governmental, and philanthropic organizations. I have extensive regional and in-country programmatic experience across sub-Saharan Africa, and Asia-Pacific, providing technical assistance to public and private sector health programs, in both emergency and long-term development contexts. In recent years, I've overseen a number of complex grant portfolios and facilitated multi-stakeholder partnerships at the Gates foundation, bringing logical coherency to complex operational and strategic processes, whilst being action-oriented and impact-focused. Currently, I serve as a Senior Program Officer in the Global Health Agencies & Funds (GHAF) team at the Gates foundation, with a particular focus on health systems strengthening, climate and health, and the Global Fund for AIDS, TB, & Malaria. On climate, I represent the GHAF team in the Climate Advocacy Advisory Group within the foundation and am a recent graduate of the Yale University certificate program on Climate Change & Health. I hold a Masters degree in the control of vector-borne disease from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (UK), and a BSc in zoology from the University of Nottingham (UK). Prior to working in the humanitarian and development sector I served for five years in the British military and later led a number of biodiversity-related survey expeditions in tropical forest habitats in South America and Sub-Saharan Africa.
