Senior Sales Engineer
Serve as the technical design and architectural expert across Verizon/Terremark's, IT solutions portfolio. This role encompasses the continuum of participating in setting specific customer strategies and executing the defined strategies within a sales environment. I leveraged my experience in the computing/information technology industry in a sales-oriented, technical design and engineering role, with an emphasis on data center technologies and architectures including cloud, server, storage, applications, and security.I had 1 week to review an application and the associated process/controls to determine cloud “friendly-ness”. Retool the application, security controls, and operational monitoring to fit into the cloud and show the customer “what could be”. This would include chopping up some gnarly Java applications to support horizontal growth – leverage open-source/host-based security and operations and fully “ish” deploy using either Chef or Ansible depending on the customer culture. Occasionally it was a redesign document that laid out steps/areas the customer needed to focus before looking at the cloud. Several customers were already in the cloud and it was a matter of redesigning/redeploying using Terremark’s offering and provide parity from Azure/AWS. I would remain “sticky” with the customer for further deployment or enhancements into Terremark’s cloud and help with their ongoing migrations and maturing into the cloud (again depending the on where the customer was in that journey).
