To help the business review it's BI requirements and help it move forward to delivery of those requirements, utilising its data warehouse, cubes and Power BI possibilities.

Helping the technical team proceed with the go live in September, providing technical and functional support and development of reporting requirements from internal AX reports to external SSRS reports.

In the dual role of Technical Consultant and IT Manager, I have fulfilled many requirements for Junction Solutions, an AX Implementation and Consultancy firm. In the role of IT Manager, I have implemented a new Exchange email system, built a large selection of virtualised solutions using Hyper-V and VMWare to provide Cloud and local based training, development and proof of concept installations. I installed a large Cloud based NAS solution and installed several networking solutions in the company’s offices. I am also responsible for the procurement of any IT equipment from new systems to the company’s phone solutions. I also build the demo systems to help the sales team present the best solutions to potential customers. As a Technical Consultant, I advise customers on their infrastructure for new and existing systems, performance tuning and upgrades. In projects, I train customers on their requirements for an Dynamics AX system on everything from system administration to data migration. I have built large scale cubes and BI solutions for customers utilising SSAS and SSRS solutions. Customer projects have included DABS, Hunter Boot, WickHill, Listers, Bettys, JML, Card Factory

Projects have included implementation of software, PCI compliance, bespoke data migration tools and solutions, BI solutions, reporting solutions. Projects completed include Jacobs Cameras, The Royal Mint (bespoke data migration tools created for migration of business historic data, along with rebuilding reports processes based around new solutions), Lamberts HealthCare (full data migration of current system Mailbrain, to new ERP solution along with creation of their new SQL Data Warehouse solution), Rapid Electronics, Cath Kidston, Tanners Wine Merchants and others. Along with these requirements, I also presented the in-house training of database schemas, reporting SQL management and training based around created solutions. I was also the internal resource for all SSRS, SSIS and SSAS projects, ranging from in-house reporting tools to customer based BI solutions.

NCO Europe Financial Services The project for NCO involved extensive changing in their reporting structure. This involved creating new databases, installation of Crystal Reports solutions and changing business procedures. During the time there, I created a new coding system for their invoice reports, manuals of procedure and documentation of the reporting system, along with training programs for the new systems. Technically, the project required the creation of several MSSQL 2003 tables which had to be cross referenced with and sometimes populated with data from a PROGRESS database.

To manage all areas of IT infrastructure for both Please Hold UK and its sister company, CVS. This covered creation of reports to be utilised by both finance and management staff, installing and maintaining a VPN, anti spam solutions and web mail solutions. The role also involved defining business processes and training for new and current staff. I also was responsible for all the technical aspects of the web-development arm of the company, Please Hold Interactive, a team of 6 account managers and designers. This meant dealing with client enquires, solving technical issues of web development and hosting, auditing current clients for implementing into new CRM solutions and many other tasks. I was also responsible for the creation and maintenance of email based marketing solutions, data management. Also I was whole responsible for the replacement and maintenance of the phone systems for both companies, creating bespoke solutions for time management, call reporting and department call monitoring using a range of Crystal Reports XI and Crystal Enterprise.

To develop the in-house, PI case management system. This involved creation of a multi-variable workflow using the bespoke system of Videss. From data created by the system, a collection of spreadsheets and reports were used to provide data analysis of case status, workload of fee earner and business standing. This position required knowledge of the Progress database, extensive use of Word and Excel, report writing and multi-system administration. The role also included the creation of training materials, training courses and the actual training of staff in a fast changing environment that required keeping up with changing company and legal procedures.

Responsible for all IT operations in the company from desktop management to IT based training. Installation of new network, ERP system and telephone system was included in the position. Implemented several new concepts into the company (Digital photography of items for sales people, email and internet for all users with controls, controlled time for door entry system, easier reporting system for finance). I also helped with the relocation and re-implementation of the ERP system to Norway.Skills UsedThe company has a mix of Windows and UNIX servers that held various databases, systems and files. My role was to combine the databases to allow for standardisation, create a new method of file handling for the company plus migrate the current data they had into the Baan implementation at the time of joining. It also utilised my IT management skills with standard IT department requirements of resource management and budgeting. I also implemented training procedures and manuals for the new implementation. The company also worked to an ISO9000 standard which I helped implement with usage and development of online training manuals, data managing techniques and maintaining and utilising equipment in the industry.
