Supported a ~50 person cross-functional org of Privacy teams across Software Engineering, Security Engineering, Investigations, and Operations. With mission of protecting user data from external actors attempting to scrape Facebook

I built and led the Security and Privacy engineering org at Stripe, which was ~50 software engineers across six teams that made up the builder half of Security at Stripe. Our mission of build the products and infrastructure that establish and maintain trust with our customers. The teams focused across a broad set of areas from customer-facing product teams (saml, dashboard roles, login,... ), Anti Abuse, and Privacy & Security Infrastructure teams.

This role allowed me to spend my time working on the highest priority production issue. My primary focus on this team was working on high pressure, high priority bugs hidden deep in the legacy code base including a $750,000,000 obscure currency conversion issue. In Addition To working on high priority issues I was the teams Technical Lead and a Member of the Extended Architecture Team.

I spent my first years at Paypal on the Merchant team, a rapidly growing team which focused on growing Paypal's presence off eBay. I developed features in C++ varying from consumer web checkout flows, merchant integration tools, and externally facing Platform API's. Including a Button factory “buy now” which included a web flow for small business owners and an API for medium to large merchants. I was development lead on all but one of my projects which meant I was responsible for the majority of the design as well as significant portion of development.
