I have been constantly surrounded by people who either need mental advice or work in the field of mental health clinics. Over time, I realized how much I enjoyed helping others struggling through numerous life problems and want to get involved on a greater scale.Luckily, I have had many opportunities to talk to children and the elderly about their mental health issues. My personal experience in being a peer leader helped me connect with children and how they think when it comes to aggravating or upsetting situations. On the other hand, my time with the elderly when I volunteered to visit the local nursing homes gave me a great insight into life as a whole and what can be done to help mental health throughout one's whole life.Some of my strengths include great collaboration skills, professionalism, communication, and empathy. All of this helps me become a better professional in my field while also helping people with problems that they have to learn how to face.
