As a Legal Case Assistant at Bush Law Offices, I aid in equine law, personal injury, and various legal matters, including civil/business litigation, mediation/arbitration, and wills/trusts/estates. My role encompasses assisting in settlement conferences, depositions, pre-trial proceedings, and litigation, directly contributing to case preparation and strategy development.

After completing my Legislative Internship with County Supervisor Joel Anderson, I transitioned into the role of Grant Administrator for San Diego County, District 2. In this capacity, I manage a variety of non-profit and small business grant programs, overseeing an allocated funding of $5,300,000 for FY 2023-2024 and an additional $3,000,000 for FY 2024-2025.My responsibilities encompass administering federal American Rescue Plan Act funds and local taxpayer dollars. I host Small Business Stimulus Grant Workshops in partnership with local chambers of commerce and collaborate with key stakeholders to enhance community development and improve the quality of life in our communities alongside Supervisor Anderson. I oversee the entire grant process, from eligibility verification to drafting board memos for approved recipients and grant amendments. Additionally, I create community grant reports while leading and training a revolving cohort of interns to equip them with the ability to efficiently manage some of these tasks.

Joining the team of District 2 County Supervisor Joel Anderson, a legislator whose vision and commitment to community enrichment resonates with my own values, was a natural decision.As a Legislative Intern, I quickly advanced to the role of Assistant Internship Coordinator over the course of my 125 hour commitment. In this capacity, I was responsible for the recruitment and management of over 80 interns on a weekly basis. My commitment to representing our team's vision extended beyond the office; I was the face of Supervisor Anderson at over 20 community events. A highlight of my tenure was presenting a large grant, showcasing my ability to handle high-stakes situations with poise and professionalism. My contributions, which included leading community outreach efforts, providing legislative updates to community planning groups (CPG), preparing event talking points, and intern recruitment/outreach amongst other responsibilities were recognized with the "Intern of the Month" award in June and July 2023.
