I'm a software developer that has been working with a variety of technologies and platforms.I started as a developer for real time systems for the offshore industry using C and C++. Moved over to .NET when it was released back in 2002. Have been working with .NET Core since it was released, and have focused primarily on backend and coding infrastructure. Building frameworks that enable others to get shit done.You will see SharePoint on my resume, but that is not something I will touch with a ten foot pole dressed in asbestos. The last time I did anything with JavaScript, I had the JavaScript bible that told what was available in Netscape and IE.

I love to code; my work has been focused on the technical side of things.Shortly after joining Avanade, I ended up on the SharePoint track. Starting with 2007 and moving to 2013. Initially it was fun exploring a weird product, but as the years went by, the product took it's toll.A couple of years ago I started breaking out from SharePoint and moving on to general .NET development. My focus has been on integration and back-end work; I'm not a Javascript guy; things must compile.Lately I've started investigating ASP.NET core and all the features becoming available with the new platform. I've been exploring how to leverage the new functionality in existing non-core applications. The redesign of .NET is something I'm looking forward to dig into more in the years to come.SharePoint work is of absolutely no interest.

When I started right out of university, I was working with real time based applications that control offshore installations such as oil rigs and ships. I was involved in developing fire & gas applications. When .NET was released, I moved over to that platform. I worked on a number of different internal applications ranging from web to windows forms. I became a general purpose developer that knew a bit of everything.
