Served as a contract attorney for one of the world’s leading full-service loan sale advisors for commercial, consumer and specialty finance debt. Responsible for the auditing of default loan portfolios from various financial institutions; preparing performing and non-performing commercial and residential loans for an online marketplace; conducting compliance and due diligence review; and reviewing and coordinating documents for multi-million dollar loan sales.

Provided legal representation, counseling and advocacy on behalf of children and families in civil proceedings. Specific responsibilities included advocating for client needs in relation to issues concerning foster care, primarily for those who had recently “aged out” of custody; litigating matters pertaining to the preservation of clients’ rights to sibling visitation; participating in collaborative mediation efforts; assisting with the negotiation of voluntary placement agreements; serving as aparticipant in the Massachusetts Task Force on Youth Aging out of DSS Care; and planning an overview and panel discussion of “Preparing Our Kids for Education, Work & Life: A Report of the Task Force on Youth Aging Out of DSS Care.”

Responsible for the analysis and preparation of material research in the fields of health law and policy, primarily in furtherance of both published work and classroom content. Specific research included the detailed historical analysis of the health care systems of, and the conflicts of interest within, France, Japan, and the United States; evaluation of medical malpractice premiums and the resulting adjustments in physician income; and complex assessment of the accessibility of health care services and quality of care, particularly with respect to public ownership of de-identified health record data.
