This won’t be your typical LinkedIn Profile. Brace yourself.Coming out as gay in my 20’s injected chaos into four years of theological training, a degree, a career path, and every aspect of my life. These were hard knocks, but I wouldn’t change how it all unfolded, even if I could. I learned resilience under pressure and discovered how living authentically has a power far greater than forcing oneself to fit others’ expectations. I began a journey of discovering the answers to “What makes me tick?”, and “What leads me towards happiness?” while uncovering my natural giftings. I have always had the heart of a helper and I’ll always choose people over profits no matter what. I gravitate towards work with meaning, often choosing roles in non-profit organizations that are making some sort of tangible difference in our world either in the here and now, or for the future.Some casual observations of my 25+ years of living and working:I often find myself expanding past defined roles and identifying organizational gaps that need attending to. I tend to act as a bridge between various workplace personalities and help to foster cooperation and cordiality. I typically become the go-to advocate for co-workers and volunteers who find themselves in conflict with an outdated policy or tradition and need help navigating a resolution. I lead quietly. I laugh loudly. I care greatly (sometimes too much).When not at work, this INFJ old soul enjoys coffee shops, used bookstores, and walks in the forest.
