Starting out my college experience the first college I chose to attend is the Art Institute of Washington. Within this school I focused in the areas of Graphic Design as well as Game Art and Design. With these fields of study over a two year period of time of attendance I familiarized myself with basic design programs such as Photoshop and Illustrator as well as a few introductory Video Game design programs. Throughout my experience at the Art Institute I enhanced my drawing abilities as well as my keen eyes for detail that I am able to express in my drawings and the basic Photography skills I have acquired. At the time my main focus was studying Fine Arts but as time progressed and I took more and more classes my field of study changed. I decided to take the more technical side of things and my interest in Information Technology was born. With a new found interest in working with computers and wanting to learn how they work I enrolled into a one year program called “Year Up” that focuses on the urban youth providing them with an opportunity to go back to school and change their futures. The program highlights learning Professional Skills, Business Communications, Personal Finance, and basic Information Technology knowledge by using the Cisco Network Academy which is the source where all the curriculum is centered in. After the six month Learning and Development phase each Year Up student is offered the chance to use everything they have learned thus far by providing an internship with a corporate partner Year Up is partnered with. Right now in my Year Up journey I am currently in the process of entering an Internship that will allow me to get some hands on IT related experience. With this experience I plan to return back to school to further my education in Cyber Security. I plan to enroll into a Bachelor's program in Information Systems-with a focus in Cyber Security Technology at Strayer University.
