My approach starts with building a deep understanding of business dynamics – what does an “effective workplace” really mean? (cultural impact, geographic nuances, right locations for what reasons, business strategy, enabling sites for optimal work, and strategic thinking of management) Most recently, I established a CRE capability for a Cyber Security company which anchored the portfolio to align with the business trajectory, including a complete shift for optimal effectiveness during the pandemic and then post pandemic aligned to hybrid working. The cross functional approach connecting the real estate strategy to product and infrastructure and customer objectives enabled significant contributions supporting the business of the business. My prior experience includes establishing a global CRE capability for a leading consumer audio brand. This resulted in significant portfolio consolidations bringing operational synergies across business lines and enhancing customer facing experiences. The creation of fit for purpose work environments and cost optimization enhanced talent opportunities and focused capital investments. Additionally, I led a multi-year global CRE strategy for integration of two M/N firms resulting in a more dynamic, collaborative workplace with significant financial and operational synergies. The organizational scope included portfolio strategy; EH&S; planning, design & construction plus facility operations and global security. I joined Thomson in 2000 in a leadership role that included creating the Strategic Sourcing function. That role included being responsible for Real Estate outside North America. Additionally, I chaired the Sourcing Audit Committee and led several spend categories including Travel Management. In 2014 I joined BOSE to establish a CRE capability and bring first time global focus for location optimization. In 2018 I joined Forcepoint, also establishing a global CRE capability which included FM, EH&S, and Corporate Security. I currently serve on faculty for the CoreNet Global certification programs of MCR and SLCR. My certifications and degrees include the MCR credential from CoreNet Global and a BS in Organizational Behavior from the University of San Francisco. I’m comfortable working around the globe; enjoy the challenge of lowering my golf handicap; love enabling technology; and currently live in Massachusetts.
