With 25 years of law enforcement experience in the Chicago area, nearly a decade of those in a senior executive role, I served my last day on-duty in March of 2022, hanging up the duty belt to enter the private sector. Utilizing extensive experience in public communication through both media relations and social media and having spent years previously training others on that topic as an instructor and guest speaker, I joined Julie Parker Communications, a growing woman-owned business with clients ranging from federal law enforcement agencies to large county governments to non-profits and private businesses. Our mission is to help organizations both tell their story in the best of times and communicate through crisis when tragedy strikes. I’m passionate about effective leadership and communication and that's largely what I write about here on LinkedIn. Whether it was serving in public safety or in my current role in the private sector, my expertise is in preparing when things are calm and leading when challenges arise. Now living in central Florida, I’m also passionate about spending time with my incredible kids, fitness and travelling to new places.
