I worked as a waiter and took on various other roles at a four-star hotel when I wasn't at University. Role involved serving food and drinks around the pool and bar areas. This required excellent communication, customer service and team working skills. I also demonstrated that I am flexible and versatile by taking on other roles within the hotel such as chauffeuring guests to the private beach and golf club.

On gaining the achievement of my coaching qualification I was selected to manage the Cornwall under 12’s cricket team. The role involved: identifying and monitoring players’ performances for team selection; developing and carrying out specific drills to improve individual and team performances; and liaising with other schools to organise local competitive matches. This role provided me with effective teaching and time-management skills, as I conversed with the players on how they could improve their performances.

I worked as a sports supervisor in a team of sports staff at the Sir Ben Ainslie Sports Centre.Role involved setting up sports equipment for activities as part of the school curriculum and for members of the public. Other roles included: performing gym inductions, life-guard duties, and taking bookings for the use of sports facilities. This taught me how to communicate effectively, both verbally and written whilst working with school staff and members of the public.
