As a Senior Research Associate at Tennessee Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations (TACIR), I conduct policy research and analysis on various topics spanning local, state, and federal government. I produce written reports and present recommendations to the commission, which consists of state legislators, mayors, and private citizens.I have a strong background in public policy and economic research, with a Master of Arts in Economics and a Bachelor's degree in International Studies and Economics from The University of Alabama. I have also gained valuable experience as an intern at the U.S. Department of State, where I investigated the impact of state-owned enterprises on the Sri Lankan economy and created profiles of notable alumni of the International Visitor Leadership Program.My passion lies in uncovering actionable insights from complex policy issues and presenting innovative solutions to drive positive change. I have directed research for a study on the possible expansion of passenger rail in Tennessee, and supported research on state grants to local governments and addressing childhood obesity in Tennessee. I have also developed analytical skills, data analysis skills, and policy research skills that enable me to deliver high-quality and evidence-based outputs.
