I am currently the quality control director and COO building a competitive testing laboratory for supplements, food safety, agriculture and our local wine industry. My experience and education center around tech, analytical science and start-ups. I completed an NRC postdoctoral research associateship at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Boulder, CO. In 2014, I graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with a Ph.D. My dissertation was multidisciplinary in scope, involving microbiology, atmospheric chemistry, soil ecology and biogeochemistry. My thesis focused on characterizing the microbial production and consumption of volatile organic compounds in soil and decomposing litter. While obtaining my doctorate, I utilized several mass spectrometry techniques including a proton transfer reaction mass spectrometer (PTR-MS) and gas chromatography. The Illumina MiSeq platform was used for high-throughput next generation sequencing of bacterial and fungal DNA.
Listed skills include Mass Spectrometry, Microbiology, Project Management, Gas Chromatography, and 25 others.
