Completed the design and implementation of a commercially viable scientific sampling device from licensed patent to production. The Portable Porous Layer Open Tubular Cryoadsorption (PLOT-cryo) device increases vapor trapping efficiencies compared to comparable methods and increases the sensitivity of the chosen analytical technique. Applied for and received a federally sourced grant (N-STEP) by successfully creating a marketing strategy, project plan and budget projections. Outreach and communications with key stakeholders to understand needs and incorporate feedback. Utilized Fusion 360 for pre-production design. Rapid prototyping utilizing a Form 2 for 3D printing and a Snapmaker for CNC and laser engraving.

Sampled headspace vapor above moist recalcitrant biological matrices using the NIST developed technology, PLOT-cryo. Quantify biologically sourced vapor samples using one of several Agilent gas chromatography - mass spectrometry (GC-MS) systems. Present research findings at scientific conferences and in scientific journals.Further the development of a hand-held portable PLOT-cryo that can be used in multiple fields, including forensics, agriculture and food safety. Advancements include the use of thermoelectric coolers and direct resistive heating of the sampling columns. Invented method for separating recalcitrant matrices into storable phases (solid, liquid, and vapor) that can then be analyzed using the best technique for each phase. Developed novel technique to automatically cool GC-MS oven below ambient temperatures for use with highly volatile samples and solvents. Method is highly efficient and cost effective in labs that have compressed air available.

Designed and ran 2 experiments for adviser's grants that were related to my expertise. Recorded and analyzed experimental results using statistical rigor. Managed and maintained the use of the department Proton Transfer Reaction Mass Spectrometer. Mentored lab technicians and students working on projects where I was involved.

Lead a team of IT and business employees to complete the design and development of a new company address matching system which decreased costs by bringing the process within the company (at roughly 50% the cost of outsourcing) while increasing efficiency by 10%. Ensured projects stayed within a designated timeline. Communicated project milestones and progress to management. Employed Six Sigma black belt training to enhance productivity.

Designed and implemented an SQL database using Microsoft Access for use within Sales Operations that facilitated the implementation of new distributors and resellers to sales reporting. Lead two successful Six Sigma initiatives to identify problem areas and improve sales reporting within the Sales Operations Organization. Implemented sales reporting from new distributors and resellers. Mentored new employees on the systems and reports needed to manage distributor and reseller data.
