Led team through the fourth cohort of the Mayo Clinic Platform_Accelerate program, successfully validated the company's approach to sepsis detection and developed an AI driven solution to categorize patient sepsis risk. Quickly constructed an extract-transform-load (ETL) process that was refined continuously throughout the 20 week program, providing the ability to train several deep learning models on a variety of high quality data sub-sets.Mentor and collaborate with developers to ensure high quality and consistent work product. Responsible for timely and accurate estimates of feature development as well as providing guidance on long term technical goals.Develop and implement an application for integrating with electronic health record systems via HL7 v2.x Messaging, including products from Epic and Meditech, to replace expensive legacy interface engines. Developed a library for transforming HL7 v2 messages into an intermediate format, simplifying extraction of data from a variety of source systems that is leveraged across the company product line. Implemented FHIR integration for the company's clinician-facing web-application, including launch from the EHR and the fetching of patient data (recent vitals, laboratory results, etc.) across several vendors, including Epic.

Design and implement industry-specific information systems for environmental and government agencies. These are predominantly web-applications implemented in Java or C# with front-ends leveraging React or vanilla HTML+JS; many with GIS integration for visualizing data. Developed a system for managing and communicating sport fishing advisories for the state of West Virginia, including displaying effected areas on an interactive map. Most recently completed the first phase of a state-wide pesticide applicator management system for New York.Worked closely with the operations team to foster a "DevOps" friendly atmosphere and encourage more automation. Managed cloud resource provisioning (Amazon AWS), monitoring and deployments for several client projects. Played a key role in rolling out GitLab across the organization, worked with other developers and project managers to leverage the GitLab continuous integration pipelines. Implemented use of a Kubernetes cluster to streamline development workflows.

Designed and implemented a library (Clojure, Core.Async) to generate web crawling jobs. These jobs use PhantomJS to collect data for reporting, analysis, etc. Implemented specialized crawling/scraping jobs, using this library, tailored to specific web sites.

Typically client-server or web-based applications, predominantly in Java for the former and Ruby (with the Rails framework) or PHP for the latter. Developed a middle-ware solution to integrate eClinicalWorks with ImageCast (HL7v2, Java, Tomcat). Designed and developed an internal system for the Emergency Department that provided unified search of patient medications across three electronic health record systems (Java, Tomcat, HTML+JS). Developed in-house project management system used daily by all department staff (Ruby on Rails). Migrated external site from a custom PHP CMS to Drupal.

Manage and administer four corporate websites. Implemented a web-based system for producing ad-hoc reports on historic real-estate data (Ruby on Rails). Add additional functionality to existing custom PHP CMS and Wordpress websites.
