Created first year-round public market in Spokane. Led marketing efforts, including WordPress-driven website and social media, that drove daily customer counts 40% to 300% higher than forecast. Wrote grant applications for federal, state, and local grants.

Provided guidance, writing, and project management for clients ranging from large, national firms to small startups, including Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, 3COM, McCann-Erickson, Redgate (AOL), Nexis/Lexis, Claris, Pinpoint Software, and Thunderware. Created marketing collateral, video scripts, advertising copy, online training materials, print tutorials, user guides and tutorials. Developed the first template files delivered with consumer software, the first online training software for online search services, and the first commercial hypertext products.

EFGN (Entrepreneurs Forum of the Great Northwest) is an 800-member volunteer group whose mission is to foster startups and growth companies in Spokane's major trading area, which encompasses portions of four states and two Canadian provinces stretching from the Cascade Range to the Great Plains. I led the organization of, and sometimes moderated, dozens of workshops, seminars, and community gatherings featuring everyone from founders of local fledglings to chairmen of national companies, developed the initial website, created curriculums for seminars and workshops, and managed public relations and outreach.

Created book projects, developed content, coordinated illustrations, book design, and cover design, established distribution networks, for general-interest product lines.

Managed accounting product documentation teams in Atlanta and Austin; developed the first online training software for operating systems and consumer software; and created a variety of global marketing materials, including brochures, corporate newsletters, videos, and the hands-on tutorial for AppleWorks. Led training sessions for writers, user-interface designers, and marketers from dozens of independent developers, including Microsoft, Great Plains Software, PeachTree, and VisiCorp; and developed training programs for Apple’s first in-house sales force.
